Hello, while trying to use my xp-245 printer, I can't print. Now all the lights are flashing (power + the triangle) if I press the on button for a long time, it stops flashing and the lights below the triangle are on, plus the wifi light is green and orange. I've tried everything. I uninstalled the app on my phone. Restarted my router. Unplugged and replugged the printer. I've tried everything on the forum but I can't find the solution, can someone please help me?
Thanks in advance

Hello,
PC stopped... Wifi stopped..
You need to unplug the printer from the wall socket for 15 minutes and then plug it back in... Then make a photocopy of anything, using only the printer's buttons... and not at all the PC's... or anything else.
Plug the PC and Wifi back in... And come back here to give the result's answer.
If we need to guess, this print is supposed to be done with a smartphone, via an app..?? there might also be something to look into on that side..?? but we won't approach that for now.
I mainly wanted to get an answer regarding the printer... Does the photocopy function work using only the buttons on the printer and nothing else??
That's the bare minimum one should確認 before thinking about anything else.
For a photocopy, Wi-Fi is of no use.
OK, so this is not good at all, the printer has a real malfunction, probably in the electronics..
Trying a "factory reset" won't hurt and could be beneficial.
Resetting the Epson XP-245 printer to factory settings
- Turn off the printer, then press and hold the "i" (Info) icon and the power button simultaneously until you see a blinking light.
- Access the menu by pressing the Menu button, then select the Setup option using the navigation arrows.
- Select the Reset settings option and confirm by pressing OK to restore the printer to factory settings.
-- A printer of this type is sold for around €50 in supermarkets. In my opinion, the most cost-effective and efficient solution would be to replace it...
-- It is still possible to find second-hand ones on eBay or LeBonCoin... but it's up to you to decide.
Yes, it's possible... the surge can come from afar, through the wires. But it can also be produced locally, by a fridge or air conditioning startup... or a power strip, or even from neighbors and grounding issues... For example.
Personally, I've experienced it... lightning struck at "Leclerc," 1 km from my home, and all the registers broke down... and at my place, just a little "Tick"... and my printer was fried... just the printer...? who knows why..?
The path of electricity is often quite mysterious.??
So, this factory reset...??? What does it do..??
It's curious... because the factory reset help comes from Epson support...???
I don't see how they're doing it...?
They might tell you over the phone..?? (I would be curious to know)
Hello, I contacted them via chat on the Epson website. I have to update it through the computer. I had to find a cable to connect it. I'll do it tomorrow and let you know.
Hello, I wanted to give you a quick update following Epson's intervention. The person I spoke with had me download direct links to update the printer. How can I put this? It's not working. At 6 PM, she gave up after making me do one last thing and told me to wait for the update to complete; I left it until the next morning. I was supposed to contact them again if it hadn't worked. I will likely do that tomorrow. For them, it's a software update issue? We'll see if I get another person tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks for the follow-up, even if it was unsuccessful...
Maybe we should restart the printer..? by unplugging it from the wall socket for 5 minutes..
Have there been any messages, good or bad..?
If it's possible..? I would be curious to know those links..
Hello, so yes, I restarted the printer several times and it didn't change anything. I'll take care of it this afternoon. I still have the same indicator lights.
I'll also send you the links.
So for the direct download links:

I did everything as they said but it didn't change anything.
I'm going to try again with "install navi" using a new cable because I can't connect my printer at a certain step, otherwise Epson should contact me within 48 hours.
To be continued.
OK, thanks for these links... but I'm not quite sure what they do..??
Anyway, it's meant to be used by a PC running Windows... If you try to do this via your Smartphone, it's not likely to work...
Here’s a link I found that does an update, it's already in your links.
https://download.epson-europe.com/pub/download/6616/epson661623eu.exe
And here’s the Epson iPrint for phone and tablet...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=epson.print&hl=fr
But above all, it must be able to make a local photocopy... Otherwise, there's not much hope left for this machine...
Does it at least have some reactions..??
You can also try the steps from this English site https://depedforum.com/how-to-manually-reset-epson-printers-without-using-any-software/
possibly restart several times.
No no, it's all from the computer that I did these steps. So the support person talked to me about recovery mode, that's why it's not responding.
I will try the links given. Thank you. I'll keep you posted.
Hello, to wrap this up, I finally managed to get my printer working again!!! In fact, I came across an article saying that Windows 11 doesn’t detect new updates and therefore printers. I found a computer with Windows 7, downloaded the recovery tool from the Epson website, updated it, and there we go, it’s working again. I hope this can help anyone who might be stuck at the same stage! Thank you for your responses.
It's true that Windows 11 doesn't detect anything anymore..!!! It wants to delete everything that's not top level... While not everyone can afford to change their printer every year... Anyway.. You're not obligated to follow this religion..!!
You can also do your necessary updates manually if needed...
You go to the manufacturer's website, in the "Support" section. You download the desired drivers or manuals... install them on your PC and then restart it... It does the same thing as Windows (except you can choose) and generally it works...
And what about those who are on Linux... what do they do then..?
Hello. I usually print with iPrint, so through an app, I didn’t think to mention it. I don’t have a PC or installation CD. The first installation didn’t give me any problems, and it worked well for two years.
I did what you said, but nothing has changed. I tried resetting the Wi-Fi settings, but even following a YouTube video, my indicators are not flashing.
