Orange portal not found

Hello,

About once every other time, the Orange portal (ISP) doesn't open as soon as the browser (Chrome) is launched. The message displayed is "site unreachable".

Since this happens every other time, I would like to know the cause because it's becoming frustrating. Not to mention that at the same time I also don't have access to Orange's email...

Subsidary question, what does "DNS address not found" mean?

Thank you for your advice.

    Hello,

Do you use any third-party antivirus (or a VPN…) like Avast for example? If so, try uninstalling it or disabling it temporarily to test the connection on the Orange portal.

    Just a small note:

I have been with Orange since 2008 and I have never had this kind of problem using the Firefox browser to access the Orange portal, and this on several computers!

    Hello,

Apparently there is a connectivity issue between the PC and the LBX, the default DNS resolver being the LBX itself.

How is the PC connected to the box?

Do you have other devices connected to this box?

    Finally, what model of Livebox?

And there you have it ....

But misery, those line spaces are so annoying!!

    Hello,

I initiated a system restore, although I wasn't very hopeful, which took me no less than 4 hours... And it worked!

Now I've seen various comments indicating that Chrome is one of the best browsers; it's quite fast and rather secure. Avast antivirus is highly rated and recommended! It's even said to be better than McAfee... I don't know much about it, but I trust it.

I had of course done quite a few manipulations to remedy the problem as best as I could, and it was the restore that put everything back in place.

Thanks a lot to those who helped.

      Hello,

There isn't really a safer and faster browser than the neighbor.

Both Chrome and Avast (I don’t know where you saw that it was highly rated, at least in the free version it specializes in false alerts) are very intrusive and not very careful about privacy, but everyone has their own opinion.
