Hello,

Finding the password or PIN code for a wireless network to connect an HP printer

https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/document/ish_2926031-3557333-16

A "Enter WPS PIN code" message appears when setting up the HP printer (Windows)

You do not need any WPS PIN code to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network. Dismiss the Windows message, then download the HP Smart app to complete the printer setup.

  1. In the WPS PIN code prompt window, click Cancel.

  2. Place the printer close to the Wi-Fi router if you are setting up a wireless connection.

  3. Download the HP Smart app at 123.hp.com (Android, Apple iOS), HP Smart — Microsoft Store (Windows, in English) or HP Smart — Mac App Store (macOS, in English).

  4. If the printer setup does not start automatically, click Add a printer or the plus sign, then follow the prompts to add your printer to the network and complete the setup.

For more information, visit HP Printer Setup (HP Smart app).

Hello,

in what context do you need to find this pin code? For what purpose?

It would be easier to go through the cable rather than through Wi-Fi.

Oh really, because it's not possible to put it next to the PC of millions of people, that's the point.

Same goes for the box, nothing prevents you from placing it next to the PC!

I'm not going to go into details, but there's probably a reason the requester wants Wi-Fi instead of Ethernet. Maybe the printer is shared and located in a specific place? Perhaps it's a laptop?

As for the box, if you're in a recent building, all network connections come into the GTL, and that's exactly where the box should be placed to distribute communications.

When is it mentioned that a Switch is used immediately and in the current state of the question?

Hello,

From what I can see, your printer is quite an old model.
I'm not sure it has a WPS connection. It's not mentioned in the manual:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04762632.pdf

The best option might be to connect via Wifi Direct:

https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/document/ish_2389908-2080559-16

I recommend using the HP Smart app mentioned by MPMP10 in their response <2>.

What is well conceived is clearly expressed,
and the words to say it come easily.

The applicant is me. I live in a very old house. The equipment I have is a laptop. Obviously, the person I am is very old: over 80 years old and the printer is 50. I would like to use a cable, but I don't know what connector goes on the printer. Those are all my worries.

Thank you for your advice.

Birgitt
