Table of contents issue in InDesign

Hello,

I have recently started using InDesign. I took a training course, but I am stuck on one point: the table of contents. I have saved my titles, chapters, sections, etc., in paragraph style. Then, when I go to tables of contents, they appear. I save them to generate the table of contents. It comes out (sometimes partially), but above all, it includes dozens of pages from the body text. Where did I go wrong?

    Maybe a style problem that was mistakenly applied to paragraphs (like "style based on another style"..
