Where are downloaded documents from WhatsApp stored?

Hello,

I downloaded several PDFs from a WhatsApp group on my Android smartphone but I can't find the files using the file explorer.

They are not in the default "Downloads" folder.

I searched everywhere and I can't find them...

Where are they stored by default according to WhatsApp?

    Hello,

    When you save, depending on the nature of the content, you will find it in the appropriate section of My Files, Documents, or WhatsApp.

    It is stored there, and you need a PDF viewer on your phone to read it.

      Thank you. It was in "WhatsApp Documents" - under the "Private" folder. Not very intuitive! Is it possible to change the default directory for WhatsApp downloads?

        Great. I'm sending a support request to Whatsapp's customer service telling them that we should be able to choose our default backup directory. Response: see our FAQ, no discussion on this topic... It's the only application/software I know that doesn't allow choosing its default location!

        No, there are others.

        As far as I remember, on PC, all Adobe software can only be installed in the program folders of the system partition, supposedly to facilitate any possible maintenance.
