    Hello,

The causes are multiple, most often of a material origin (failure of the USB key itself or its port or connection) but can also be due to its content (virus, inappropriate formatting...).

    See for example:

It is therefore according to the capture that it is not for some reason well recognized but more formatted and that it is necessary to try to redo it after having, if necessary, attempted to recover the data using Recuva, PhotoRec or equivalent.

        Hello,

It's possible that it works, creating a new volume by formatting it. (Quick)

        Maybe.

After data recovery, format it and check it with H2testw

    Hello,

If the firmware shows as KO, the data may be lost, but we can try to fix the firmware of the drive.

Tell us more about the drive (Brand, Model, Size) * If applicable

And create a report (with the drive connected) using ChipGenius

Right-click in the ChipGenius window and then click "OK", then use
Ctrl + V to paste the text in a subsequent reply.

Note: It's a powerful tool to extract information about USB hardware (USB controller chip model, memory chip, etc.). It may be flagged as infected by many antivirus software, but it is not at all; I have personally used it for years, so there's nothing to worry about.

Disable real-time protection of the antivirus while performing this operation, or add the files to exceptions.

Otherwise, here is the latest version (same thing) with a password:
