Install recent Android version on old tablet

Hello, I have an old ACER Iconia A3-A20FHD tablet that still works well. Unfortunately, it's running Android 4.4.2 and I can no longer access the Google Play Store since Google has abandoned this version. Of course, there are no newer updates available in the settings.

Is it possible to manually install a more recent official version of Android, even if it might be unstable? Or another reliable OS that isn't Android? I specify that LineageOS is not compatible with my tablet.

Best regards

    Hello.

You can only install Android on your tablet. As for installing a newer version of Android, you need to root your tablet and install an official Android ROM, such as Android 5.0. This operation is not without risk (tablet may stop working), so don’t expect me to guide you remotely. You have all the keywords at your disposal; it's up to you to search online.
