Corrupted BIOS issue

Hello,

I recently made posts about PC problems related to not starting and came to the following conclusion: the BIOS is corrupted. I tried to flash the BIOS to get them started. I did this operation on my Acer Aspire 5535 and my Compaq Presario V6000, but it didn't work. In my opinion, I didn't perform the operation correctly. So, I would like to receive ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS to try to unlock the BIOS (the websites for the BIOS, the key combinations to use) and also have all the steps to follow. Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Julien

    Hello.

For the Acer Aspire 5535, no BIOS update has been posted online by ACER.

For the Compaq Presario V6000, there are BIOS updates.

I don't think a BIOS update will fix anything, as both PCs are very old and outdated.

    Hi

Check if there is a BIOS backup battery present; on older laptops, there often is, and when it's dead, the computer won't start (Acer is a common problem).

But I agree with bazfile, I'm not sure the BIOS is the issue (other than the battery) because a truly corrupted BIOS is rare, and on older devices, there's a much higher chance of having problems with the capacitors on the motherboard.
