Hello,

Can someone tell me how to easily open .bmt files that I recovered from a thermal camera?

I want to avoid Alpha Five since it's paid.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

A late response, but a response nonetheless! I had the same problem this morning with a thermal camera. Just rename the .BMT extension to .JPEG

Hoping that this solution helps some people with this need.

I didn't push the envelope that far!

The file with the .bmt extension is a "Developer file". What can it bring to it?... https://www.fileviewpro.com/fr/list/software/alpha-software/alpha-five/

Yes, but precisely, it would need to be pushed (if the file in question turned out to be precarious...!) this way of doing things allows an unwanted element to be conveyed to a large number of people on a forum.

        Hello,

        This discussion is surreal.

We assume that by now the original author has or has not found the solution to their question.

.bmt is not a file type defined like a .jpg file, but a data file created by the application developer that outputs in this format and can contain anything and everything, not necessarily an image.

Schematically, it can be compared to a TV that cannot read all AVI formats created because it's also a container that can hold pretty much anything, not a unique defined format.

If the file in question contains a BMP or JPG image, renaming it might be enough, but that’s not a general rule.

Therefore, there cannot be a miraculous application, FileViewPro or another, capable of reading all these files except the one that created them.

As for FileViewPro itself, it is an old application that is mostly only found on dubious download sites (including Solvusoft but not just that).

The application itself is legitimate, but the site is not because it "encourages" the download of third-party "software," like their name indicates, the PUA flagged by some antivirus programs, or conversely, FileViewPro may be bundled with software downloads on dubious sites or themselves dubious: it then becomes the PUA since it’s not what you intended to download.
