Why does qBittorrent slow down drastically during downloads?

Hello,

I use qBitTorrent to download files and with every download the mouse on the screen moves extremely slowly and everything almost freezes.

As soon as I pause the download, everything goes back to normal.

I am on Windows 10.

Hello,

It's your download that is using the computer's resources...

-- The capabilities of your PC and its processor are unknown but they're probably not racehorses..??

-- Too many software programs running at the same time as Windows, in the background, can seriously slow it down...

-- The speed of your internet connection and the number of users sharing the line, especially over Wi-Fi, divide this precious bandwidth...

-- VPNs and others are also a hindrance...

-- Your provider (server) adjusts the speeds according to its own rules...

-- Your hard drive may have also aged and struggles to store your files, especially if the remaining space is limited...

These are the important points, there may be others...

Happy New Year anyway..

I have 54 Gb left out of 250 Gb on the main SSD with Windows installed on it, so that's ok.

I'm not using the VPN. No current fiber optic bandwidth issues. Only 2 programs running: Google Chrome and qBitTorrent. An old Intel Core i3 processor from 2014, but that's not an excuse because until last week, nothing slowed down during downloads.

None of this had been said until now...

As for the SSD, with Windows updates, it's never too much... and what about its speed and fragmentation..??

No VPN, that's good... Fiber... We don't know what its measured speed is in your house, nor how many people are using it..?... all this lacks measured figures to assert instead of assume...

Since last week, things may have happened... floods, storms, many more people connecting and sending photos (videos) for Christmas and New Year's... A lot of banking transactions, etc... and I don't know everything... I also assume this could contribute... in wired connections, I'm not talking about Wi-Fi which varies based on various local criteria.

Also look at the proper settings for Qtorrent

You should try it on another PC, one that's younger with a more powerful processor..

and let it do its downloading, without moving anything else during that time.

What you are downloading may be monitored.. guess..?
