Hello,

I just received a verification code from Temu even though I have never requested anything or signed up. Is this a scam? Thank you for your response.

There are indeed many scams of all kinds, and they are only growing in magnitude.
The victims number in the thousands.
The fact that you are asking the question is already a good reflex, and I encourage you to continue educating yourself about scams of all kinds. It is the only truly effective defense.

In general, one must be wary of anything that is unknown or known but unexpected.
More and more often, even when it is expected, it is worth checking directly through the relevant account (of the site, forum, or anything else), WITHOUT clicking on a link from an email, SMS, or any other source.

Finally, anything that seems too good to be true really is.

Hello, Temu never sends a verification code by SMS; however, when logging in, there is a security Captcha to complete!
