Hello, I just installed a Snipe 4 antenna with France Sat. We are trying Astra 1 and it always connects to the Turkish satellite TurcSat. What should we do to access French programs? Thank you for your help.

Hello

*There may be an application to help with the installation. The antenna should be pointed west at 5° for Fransat

https://www.fransat.fr/assistance-fransat/satellite-e5wb/dois-je-reparametrer-ma-parabole-pour-recevoir-fransat-sur-le-nouveau-satellite/

*Eutelsat also has a satellite to the east at around 16°, but it probably doesn't carry TNT like Fransat

*Astra 1 is mentioned here, the antenna doesn't point to the same place to the east; it's not the same satellite at around 19°:

*Turksat is even further to the east; there should be several antennas

*But there's also an application for the antenna; there are normally about ten pre-programmed satellites

The Fransat bouquet is on Eutelsat 5 W, which is positioned between Amos at 4 W and Nilesat at 7 W. The proximity of these two satellites can cause your dish to lock onto the strongest received transponder...
In theory, the transponders point towards different reception areas, but depending on your location, you may be on the edge.
The other possibility is that there may be an initial alignment to be made on your dish... a reference point that allows for the subsequent calculation of satellite positions. If I understood correctly, on this dish, it is a point received by GPS... it should be reliable... but well, with 2 or 3 GPS satellites, the accuracy is low.
