Soundbar / Microphone (karaoke) Compatibility

Hello,

We have a soundbar and I would like to buy a microphone so that we can sing karaoke at Christmas:

1/ I'm not sure about the compatibility between the soundbar and the microphone. It says "aux in" on my soundbar (see photo 2) but I'm not sure that corresponds to the jack plug of the microphones I see for sale.

2/ I also see on some devices a box (see photo 1), do I need to get microphones with a box like that?

Thank you very much for your help because, as you may have noticed, I don't know anything about this at all and I'm lost about what to get! :-) Have a nice end of the day!

Hello,

It should work by connecting the Audio Out of the karaoke amplifier to the Aux in of the soundbar...

However, the output is a 6.35mm jack and the input of the soundbar is a 3.5mm jack.

You will need to provide a 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male cable and a 6.35mm male to 3.5mm female adapter.

For your information, here is the manual for the karaoke amplifier

It's very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...

Hello everyone,

As far as I remember, an Aux in "It says 'aux in' on my soundbar" only applies to pre-amplified devices, but this needs to be confirmed.
I'm not sure it works for microphones.

Technical sheet of the Samsung HW-F750 (source 01net).

  • Analog RCA Audio  Yes
  • USB Ports                      1
  • Audio cable(s) supplied   3.5mm jack audio cable

And as Panth33ra nicely points out, it says HDMI Out and HDMI In.

As for the microphone box, I believe it is a transmitter/receiver for wireless microphones, to be coupled with the soundbar.
Connectivity (seems for "professionals") output XLR, 6.35mm Jack

For now, in your case, I only see an adapter XLR to RCA.

Good luck!

Hello.

The technical documentation from 01.net does not match the Samsung HW-F750 soundbar model that Steff posted a picture of.

01.net mentions a single HDMI and RCA analog inputs.

Here is the manual for the model with 2 HDMI ports and a 3.5mm Aux jack.

https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201910/20191029125754611/HW-F750_F751_ZF_AH68_02617F_05L04_0701.pdf

As for the UHF PARTY microphones, they are paired with an amplifier receiver that provides an analog output on a 6.35mm jack, which I believe is fully compatible with the AUX input of the soundbar. See the manual given in message #5.

This requires a stereo adapter from 6.35mm male to 3.5mm female or a 6.35mm male to 3.5mm male cable.

Hello,

Your soundbar has HDMI Out and HDMI In indicated... https://helpguide.sony.net/hv/fmpx5/v1/fr/contents/TP0000546418.html

For photo 1, could we see the back of this device?

Yes, on the soundbar, there are several HDMI Out, HDMI In, Aux In, Optical In ports, and there's also a USB port on the side.

For the photo, it was just to show the type of case that sometimes comes with the microphones (it only showed it from this side). I was wondering what it was for and if one needs to have it. Would just plugging the microphone into the soundbar work?

Does this case have a name (not having good eyesight)?

The product name is Pack PARTY LIGHT&SOUND PARTY-200UHF V2 but there is no specific name for the product.

And here is the link:

I looked up the references for the soundbar we have: Samsung HW-F750 and it seems that the audio jack cable is 3.5mm

That's why I say that a male 6.35mm jack to female 3.5mm jack adapter will be needed. The karaoke manual says that the audio out is a 6.35mm jack.

Hello, yes I wasn't sure it would work and I needed an adapter from 6.35mm jack to 3.5mm jack. So, I changed my approach. I got this: https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B08G1514K8?ref=ppx_pt2_dt_b_prod_image&th=1

- It has a 3.5mm jack input

- compatible with amplifier

However, I didn't see the little diagram that states it's compatible with MIC but not AUX IN

So, I was wondering if I could buy an amplifier that would be compatible... It's a shame because our soundbar is good but it would be better than nothing... Any idea what I should get?
