Unassigned number calling me.

Solved

Hello,

Desperately looking for answers, I stumbled upon this forum.

I have a 06 (+336......) that has called me twice. I sent a message to find out who the number belongs to, but when I called, my operator informed me that the number is not assigned.

I searched for the number online, in reverse yellow pages, etc... But the number has never been reported and is untraceable.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Have a nice day.

Hello,

If the caller is not a wrongdoer, they will leave a message.

So: never call back and block the number.

What is well conceived is clearly expressed,
And the words to say it come easily.

Hello

It is common for switchboards to block external calls to the switchboard, and we have this message "number not assigned".

In France, switchboards should use landline numbers.

Let’s assume that a mobile phone has a way to block external calls like switchboards do, wanting to have some time and not be interrupted by their activities when they are on the phone; I haven’t done any research.

What seemed strange to me is that I called back immediately, and I sent a message while this number was calling me. Theoretically, it should be impossible for it to have done that; it's a mobile phone number.

Hello,

The "he" in question could very well be a soup vendor or a wrongdoer hiding his caller ID with a national mobile number +33 6.

This is often the case with calls for various scams coming from foreign countries that the caller does not want to be identified.

In any case, what does it matter? Unidentified number without a message left equals blocked number.

Hello,

I am surprised to learn that the operator informs you that the number is not assigned, which implies that it could be communicated if it had been, in total contradiction with French law (only police services, as part of an investigation conducted by a judge, can do so).

Moreover, if you are being bothered by two calls, perhaps from a platform located outside European jurisdiction (which can create and change numbers at will) and therefore inaccessible to any injunctions from our countries' authorities, imagine the "mess" that would result from numbers publicly revealed to any anonymous requester who wants to harm their neighbor or work colleague.

In summary, the members of CCM, who are individuals like you and me, do not assist or conduct any investigation into identifying pranksters or perverts, as they do not hold files of our fellow citizens (which is also strictly regulated, see individual data protection).

The solution (very imperfect or even ineffective) is to block these numbers as they appear.

The operator does not provide any information at all: they simply respond with an unassigned number message when the given number is dialed, and this from a phone of any operator.
