Hello,
I just replaced the battery of my MacBook Pro - mid 2012 A1278 with an iFixit battery. Everything indicates that the battery is functioning in the system. However, the "service battery" message is still displayed.
Does anyone know why and how to make it go away?

You could try resetting the power manager of your MacBook Pro.
Go to this Apple page "Reset the SMC of your Mac"
and follow what's proposed in the paragraph:
"If you don't have a Mac with Apple silicon or T2 chip."
Hoping this helps to resolve the situation.
