Blocked number but acknowledged receipt

Hello, I know for sure that my number has been blocked by someone. But when I send them a text message, I get a notification that it has been received by that person. Is that normal?

    It could be possible because on some smartphones, the blocking can be either for calls, or for texts, or for both.
