IPhone brightness locked

Hello,

I'm having a problem with my Iphone 12; since I manually launched the update to IOS 16.6, my phone is stuck with the brightness set to minimum (I can use it when I'm in a completely dark room, but even then the visibility is extremely poor),

here's everything I've already tried to solve the problem:

- increasing the brightness from the control center or from the settings; but it doesn't change anything

- changing the automatic brightness setting but surprisingly this option has disappeared from my settings, where it should be there is nothing. I even tried to search for this setting in the search bar but the same, the place indicated by the search is empty.

- resetting the Iphone settings, this technique still doesn't work

After all these attempts, the only thing I've understood is that it's not a connection issue with the screen because when I watch videos or photos from the gallery app, the brightness suddenly increases but decreases again in the seconds following the closure of the app.

So with all this information I hope you can help me because my phone is completely unusable.

Thank you for reading my problem already

Have a good evening

Hello,

First of all, I invite you to perform a force restart. This will force the system to refresh in case of failure.

  1. Press the volume up button.
  2. Press the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the Power button until the Apple logo appears.

Regarding automatic brightness, the option is usually found in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Automatic Brightness.

If the problem persists, try disabling True Tone via Settings > Brightness & Display.

Thank you for your response, but I have already tried several restarts and I already know where the automatic brightness is supposed to be. I can't find True Tone on my phone.

I have the impression that your version of iOS is corrupted. We will attempt to download a new copy by restoring your iPhone via iTunes.

To begin, connect your iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes. Then back up your data by following these steps.

Once your data is backed up, click on Restore iPhone. iTunes will then erase your iPhone and download and install a new copy of the latest version of iOS.

After the restoration, you can recover your data by restoring your iTunes backup.
