Printer icon missing from the taskbar.

Hello,
Following a reinstallation of Win10, I had to reinstall everything, including the printer.
Since HP no longer provides support for it, I settled for the generic Windows driver (which of course does not offer all the features provided by the HP driver!).
I have no icon in the taskbar and therefore cannot scan a document! Any idea how to make it appear?
Thank you in advance.

In fact, it doesn't really work...
When the program starts, it asks me to add a printer, but none appear in the ad-hoc area...
So, since it doesn't detect anything, it won't carry out any tasks!
I remind you that my printer is a Deskjet F2180 for which HP no longer provides support.
Yes yes, it works very well despite its old age ;)
A few hours ago, I scanned 3 documents (not with HP Smart, but another menu that I can't seem to find anymore) and it was perfect.
I think HP Smart doesn't support "obsolete" printers either.
Thank you.
HP Smart is mainly designed for new HP printers .....
If everything is installed correctly and your printer is working but you're having trouble scanning, I suggest you do it with the Fax and Scanning option included in W10
In your search bar on the left ► Type Scanning and ....► At the top of the search results ► You will see Fax and Scanning ► Create a shortcut on your desktop ► Launch the application ► New scan ...and it should be fine in principle
If I understand correctly, you want an icon of this printer on your desktop... ► If so, and since it is already installed, go to the Windows 10 control panel ► Devices and Printers ► Right-click on the icon of this printer ► Create shortcut ► and the shortcut will be on your desktop and you should have access to the printer
See you!
