Automatic PC restart when launching a VM

Hello,

I had a PC on which I was using version 16 of VMware Workstation and I could connect to several virtual PCs without any problems. I just bought a more powerful PC than the old one and I wanted to use the new one.

On my new PC, I installed version 16 of VMware Workstation with the license, then I copied my backup folders from the virtual machines.

As soon as I try to start a virtual machine (whichever it is), my PC automatically restarts.

In the event log, I have this message but it doesn’t help me much...

The computer has restarted after a crash check. The error check was: 0x00000139 (0x0000000000000004, 0xfffff80463aae010, 0xfffff80463aadf68, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was recorded in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report ID: 9d2ee134-ff1c-4e9e-9d79-92a72a523582.

Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you

Hello,

What do you mean by backup files?

My PC crashed recently, I completely reinstalled Windows and then VMWare 16, my virtual machines were in a folder on another partition, each in a subfolder and therefore unaffected; I restarted them without any problem.

After reconfiguring in Preferences-Workspace the folder for these virtual machines, I just had to go to File-Open and point to the vmx file of each of these machines.

I suppose that if this is not the case and they were installed on the system partition, they will need to be reinstalled.

We of course assume that virtualization is enabled in the BIOS of the new PC.
