Hello,
I have a problem with VMware,
to make it simple, I want to be able to connect my virtual machine to another Wi-Fi network. Such as the hotspot from my phone (an iPhone, for example).
So that my host PC and the virtual machine do not share the same connection and have nothing in common.
I have tried a lot without success, so if anyone knows if this is possible or not.
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
The VM does not have access to the host's hardware. The network adapter offered by VMware in the VM is only the one from the vmnetcfg network configurator. So it's either an internet network coming from the physical machine's connection or a local network.
The only possibility I would consider is to test a USB Wi-Fi adapter, as USB hardware is not shared between the two machines (physical and virtual); at any given moment, it is only connected to one of the two.

Hi,
a virtual machine that has nothing in common with its real host is still quite similar to a real machine, when you think about it.

Having 2 USB Wi-Fi adapters that are about fifteen years old, the hardest part was getting them to work with the W10 of the VM; the first one was impossible, and the second one's app doesn't work either, but the installed drivers allow Wi-Fi connection where I had to use a Wi-Fi network without an identifier since there was no WPA2 at that time.
Does the host machine not see the Wi-Fi adapter or the network?
