Buy used bbox

Hello, I saw that some people were selling Bbox online.

For example, I currently have a Bbox Fit, which is the cheapest Bbox from Bouygues Telecom, and the box is locked to Wi-Fi 5 with a maximum theoretical speed of 400 Mbps, but in the speed test, I get up to 600 Mbps, and when I check my line by searching for the IP address of my box online, my line can supposedly deliver 1 Gbps.

So if I buy a second-hand Bbox Ultym, can I replace my current Bbox with it to get a better speed and also Wi-Fi 6E?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Hello,

No, it depends not only on the Box but also on the subscription that is taken out.

Currently, I have the subscription with the Bbox Fit which is limited to 400 Mbps, but my subscription allows me up to 1000 Mbps.

So in theory, just by changing the box, my speed would increase?

Hello

It should be noted that a second-hand box will not be activated by the internet provider

Hello,

I would be very much in favor of JCB40's opinion, knowing that the boxes are leased and must be returned by their tenants, and that they can be identified by their MAC address (unique equipment number) which is used to establish and secure the subscriber's connection, and therefore it would be surprising to achieve a change in parameters (performance) without redefining the subscriber's profile.
