Malware issue

Hello, here is my problem. Yesterday, from the CCA newsletter, I installed the Gparted software and on my home screen, I saw that there was an application called Maiagames installed. I immediately checked the CCM forum and read that it was a virus and that I needed to install Malwarebytes, which I did, and I launched the scan.

This morning, the app is still on my home screen. How can I tell if the problem is resolved or not? Thank you for your help.

P.S. I am 76 years old.

    Check in your programs if you can uninstall it directly:

    => Press Windows + R

    => Type appwiz.cpl and confirm with OK

    => Look for it in the list and uninstall it

    PS: After research, it is simply a shortcut that leads to a gaming site that should be unchecked at the time of installing Gparted.

    So, simply right-click on it and delete it, that’s all, it has nothing to do with a virus.
