Windows Movie Maker cuts videos poorly.

Hello,
I have always used the video software provided by Windows.
Now, I have Windows 10, so the Windows Movie Maker that comes with it.
For some time now, I have noticed that there is a problem.
When I cut at a certain frame, it adds 4 or 5 more.
When I cut just before a scene change, it’s very obvious.
(Of course, I delete the next sequence.)
So I have 4 or 5 frames from the next shot, which should be deleted.
Does anyone have a solution?

PS. I specify that I work in MP4 and save in MP4.
I have less of this problem once I have already developed the video.
Thus, if I take an MP4, modify it, save it, I see these frames.
If I try to modify it on my draft, it doesn’t change anything.
But if I save and open the new movie, I can then delete the excess.

Hello, I have several options to respond. I don't know the power of your computer, but we'll have to do our best. Before starting a project, you need to free up some memory, delete your old projects, and your "render" calculations.

Origin of the clips: either MP4 recordings (phone, camera), or videos that were previously M2TS (Freebox) from which I keep a small piece after transforming. Or even MP4 clips sent to me that I want to shorten.What I find hard to understand is that I didn't have this problem a few months ago.
However, nothing has changed on my computer. I have the same one. Same configuration."delete your old projects"

On the other hand, I must be running low on space on my hard drive.
But I have two. One for the system and one for documents.
So, it should be running well.
My computer is:
AMD Ryzen 5 2500U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.00 GHz
8GB of memory.
Windows 64.
That's it.
I will check the new one.
Is it compatible with Win 10?
Or do I need to upgrade to 11? (Which I don't want to do :) )

Hello, thank you for the feedback.
So for the processor, it should do the job in turbo mode (3GHz), it's the frequency accepted for HD assembly. Make sure your software and project are on the C: drive:
No need to upgrade to 11 (I am sticking with 10).
No need to do anything for the mp4 files, I understand.
For "the rendering files," my software has a box to regularly delete them, as these are all the calculations from the edit that take up RAM.

In my computer, I can give you the path that leads to the software: example: C:user/(your username)
AppData/(software name)/scratch/render
Since I don't use this minimalistic software, I can't tell you more.
I would suggest a more comprehensive free software like Shotcut.

Well, I'm a bit conservative. When I know a software, I don't let it go.
I have an old software from the early 2000s for photo editing and I don't part with it :D
