Safe free alternative to CDex

Hello,

Having used CDex on my previous Windows 7 PC to convert wav to mp3, I wanted to install it on my current Windows 10 PC.

However, Avira considers it dangerous and puts it in quarantine. VirusTotal gives a rather unsatisfactory result on CDex-2.24.exe.

I tried to work around this issue but I can't manage: the installation executable is systematically put in quarantine, even though I've excluded it from the scan. Moreover, I can't even download it anymore, it's automatically quarantined.

Therefore, I'm looking for a free alternative to CDex that passes the antivirus barrier without any issues.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

    Hello,

Looking for an old version of Xrecode II

Or buy Xrecode III (Not too expensive and you can pay via PayPal (Secure))

    Or try FRE:AC (Free)

Good evening Georges, good evening fabul.

I tried to install Format Factory but Avira quarantined it as well.

On the other hand, fre:ac doesn't pose any problem on that front and I was able to install it without any issues.

I will see in practice if this software meets my needs.

Thank you both for your suggestions.

      Hello,

Personally, I would especially quarantine Avira...

To close this topic, I already had what I needed with VLC, which converts .wav to .mp3 with a noticeable reduction in size.

fre:ac seemed to me to have an impractical interface and was too complicated for my needs.
