A priori, it is an iMac from early 2008 or early 2009 and it can therefore go up to El Capitan, as Francis mentioned above. That said, with 2 GB of RAM it is a bit underwhelming. If it's worth it (which remains to be seen), it's possible to "push" the memory up to 6 or even 8 GB (depending on the exact model).
Still, in any case, it's a largely obsolete model and it will be quite difficult to surf the internet or find software...

Hello
My 2007 iMac running El Capitan with 6GB of RAM completely agrees with Françis and Aliboron Martin.
In terms of performance, I indeed had to boost it with the maximum amount of RAM possible for this model (which is 6GB), otherwise it was unmanageable, and even with these 6GB, it is no longer as fast as it used to be.
Currently, it still works for me although certain email formats containing photos are no longer readable like the example below. The solution is then to click on the link to see the online version...
After having received updates for various MacOS versions up to El Capitan, the applications, printer, and scanner drivers that I have on it have been updated and have probably become collectibles and therefore are likely unavailable on their creator's websites.Happy updating
Good purchase of RAM for this 20" early 2008 iMac, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz, which can like mine only receive 6GB of RAM via 2 sticks of "200-pin PC2-6400 (800MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM" (one of 4GB and one of 2GB)Ritchi

Hello, you have a version of OS X earlier than version 10.7 (Lion), you will not be able to upgrade your computer to a newer version of OS X.
Unfortunately, the last version of OS X compatible with this computer is version 10.6.8, which was released in 2011. This means that it will not be possible to upgrade the iMac to use a newer version of OS X.
However, you can still use the iMac with the version of OS X that is currently installed. You should check that all the software and peripherals you wish to use are compatible with version 10.5.8 of OS X. If you have difficulties using the iMac, you can contact Apple for assistance.

Hello,
I quote:
"Unfortunately, the latest version of OS X compatible with this computer is version 10.6.8, which was released in 2011. This means that it will not be possible to upgrade the iMac to use a newer version of OS X."
The reality:
An iMac from 2009 can go up to OS X 11.6, which is El Capitan.
