Connecting a SONY camcorder to a Samsung TV
SolvedHello everyone,
I would like to "play" my tapes on my television. I have a SONY HANDYCAM VIDEO 8 XR (CCD-TRV27E PAL) that I recovered and I have a SAMSUNG television. What cable should I buy? Thank you in advance for your help and advice. I am attaching the connections of my television and my camcorder.

Hello and welcome to this forum,
Your camcorder has a video output: yellow RCA and a mono audio output gray RCA
So plug
the yellow RCA into the "AV in yellow" input on your TV
The gray RCA into the "Audio L" white input on the TV
You can buy this type of cable:

Hello,
These are cables with RCA connectors... it's standardized... Yellow = Video, red = Right audio, and white = Left audio
In your case, there seems to be only one audio cable... So the sound is not stereo, but monophonic...
Here is an example of these cables, identical at both ends... https://www.boulanger.com/ref/8001909
So... with this you connect your camcorder to your TV while respecting the colors... and with your remote, you select the A/V input on the TV.
And it should work with the camcorder in playback mode...
