Hello,
I have an Aston Simba 202s, and when I turn it on, the 3 front buttons light up (2 red and 1 green) and blink, but nothing happens.
I wanted to know what the problem is and what I can do to fix it.

I have an Aston Simba 202S, and when I turn it on, the 3 front buttons light up (2 red and 1 green) and blink, but nothing happens.
This is the first time it has happened.
The receiver is stuck and is not responding to either the remote control or the keyboard, and it displays "boel."
I would like to know what the problem is and what I can do to fix it.

Hello,
This problem is due to a defect in the power supply board: the two 1000 microfarad capacitors are defective, they do not filter the output voltages properly, which is why the LEDs seem to flicker. Solution: replace the capacitors while respecting the values (capacitance and voltage).

Hello,
I also have a Simba 202s receiver; I changed the 2 capacitors of 1000μF/16V/105°. The device works, but another problem appears on the image. A horizontal line on the image moves from top to bottom.
Are the capacitors faulty, or is there another issue?
Best regards.
Tom.

Hello,
This issue is due to a fault in the power supply board: the two 1000 Micro capacitors are defective, they do not filter the output voltages properly, which is why the LEDs appear to be flickering. Solution: replace the capacitors while respecting the values (capacitance and voltage).
Sorry for the bad handwriting, I had to register.

For the 3 red and green buttons that light up, it may be the power supply. The 5V is not enough, change the 2 capacitors C19 and C20 (both 1000 mF/16V) =
As for the display, it says "Boot" and it freezes, reflash it and everything will be fine.

TO HELP EVERYONE WHO HAS A BLOCKAGE ISSUE WITH THE SIMBA 202, I CHANGED BOTH CAPACITORS as written! I DISMANTLED THE 2 capacitors 1000nF/10V and replaced them with 1000µF/16V. I ordered them online at https://www.ovh.co.uk/mail/ € 12.18. Thank you, it works and good luck to all the DIYers.
Hello,
I have the same problem as you with an Aston Wamba 311 (actually two Wamba 311 since I bought one in 2003 and a second one in 2006 when the first one broke down).
I don't know much about electronics, but I would like to try changing the capacitors myself since the cost of repairs often ends up being as expensive as new devices.
I can't identify the capacitors on the Wamba, but I will find them. However, I don’t understand one point: you replaced a 1000nF/10V with a 1000µF/16V. Can you really go from 10V to 16V?
Thank you.

Hello everyone,
I probably made a wrong manipulation because my Simba 202 displays a "dld" message and I can only turn off this device using the switch at the back of the unit! Also strangely, I have a blue frame on the TV receiver displaying:
version not downloaded
try again at the new standby: yes or no
V0000000
etc (satellite...frequency)
Can someone help me!!
My device is 4 months old
Thanks for your help.

Hello,
dld stands for Download. You must have performed an update via satellite. Indeed, satellite updates are not always very reliable. I had the same problem as you several times. The Aston support was not much help to me.
I managed to get through by toggling the switch at the back of the Simba numerous times. (It's a bit of a lottery) But each time, the Simba restarted. Since then, I've taken precautions and bought a PC Simba connection cable, and I perform updates via the Internet.

Hello. I have a problem with my Simba 202, I am subscribed to Canalsat and I deleted all the channels to do a new scan, and now I only receive one package called BSKYB. I have restarted the search several times, but it’s always the same thing. I would like you to help me get back the Canalsat package. Thank you.
It is preferable to manually add the channel bouquets with a Simba 202.
You will find the list of channels and the values to enter by clicking on the link below
https://fr.kingofsat.net/pack-canalsat.php
Operating instructions for the Simba
- Menu
- Installation
Adding a bouquet or a channel
In the television list
Position yourself on "bouquets"
Press the red "add" button on your remote control
The "add a transponder" window
Enter: The frequency
The bitrate
The polarization
The satellite
Do this for each frequency that contains the channels you want to receive.
Example: Canal Plus bouquet, Canal Plus décalé, Canal Plus Cinéma, etc. ...
Frequency: 11856
Bitrate: 27500
Polarization: vertical
Satellite: Astra 1
Click OK to validate the acquisition of the channels
This operation is a bit more tedious than the auto search, but it is much more reliable.

Me, on the contrary, I have the Canalsat package, but all the channels are mixed up, meaning that, for example, the weather channel, which is number 76 on the magazines, is going to be 618 on my screen (that's just an example). I'm getting frustrated trying to retake them, but in the favorites list, we can't replace the numbers.
It's a hassle.

Attention,
The numbering of channels on a Simba has nothing to do with the numbers assigned by Canalplus on their decoder.
In fact, the numbers are created as channels are searched.
For this, go to the Kingofsat website, you will find all the frequencies of channels on various satellites.
In the favorites, you can organize the channels as you wish. (See the manual). However, the favorites list is limited to 100.

I can't find various channels like RTL9 on the canalsat bouquet, when I search on my simba 202. I can find them on other bouquets. What should I do?

Hello,
Click on the link below and you will have all the Canal Plus bouquet and Canal Sat channels
https://fr.kingofsat.net/pack-canalsat.php
RTL 9 is at the end of the list
- Frequency 12285
- Polarization V (vertical)
- Bitrate: 27500
Just enter these parameters using the procedure I mentioned in a previous message and you will have the channels broadcast on frequency 12285, including RTL 9.

Hi bogey54, thanks for the tips on manually adding bouquets.
However, it doesn't work for me...
The process seems to go smoothly, but no channels are added to my list.
I've made space by deleting the bouquets that aren't useful, but that doesn't help...
My issue is that I just received my new Csat card to switch from the TPS offer to the Csat offer and I'm unable to reprogram my channels from the Csat bouquets...
I checked the manual for the Simba 202 terminal, nothing different from the method you mentioned here.
Is there a trick somewhere? I've also tried configuring the search criteria to load all channels (including encrypted ones) but no luck, still not working...
Help, help, help please :o)

Hello
I read that you know this device very well and maybe you could help me?
I no longer receive movies rated 18+, whether they're adult or horror films, I always get a black screen and a message saying that I need to check my rights. Is this problem coming from the device or from Canal?
Thank you in advance.

Hello everyone.
I solved my problem a long time ago, but this forum sent me a message.
Actually, I had a hard time for a while over a "screw-up": I previously had a decoder rented from CANALSATELLITE, and on that one there was an RJ socket allowing the device to be connected to a phone line for commands.
I thought that this same socket present on my SIMBA had the same function and I reconnected the cable (luckily unplugged from the phone socket), which could have damaged the device.
It was only by rereading the manual that I realized this socket was not for that purpose, so I unplugged this cable which I think acted as an antenna, and everything returned to normal.
However, I still have a small problem, not important: since I cut the power after each use to prevent lightning from damaging the device, as soon as I turn it back on, it takes "a certain time" to decode, which did not happen with the rented model.
Have a good day everyone, and long live the FORUMS!
