Hello everyone,

After recovering my ceiling quote invoice software from my old PC running Windows XP and reinstalling it on my new PC running Windows 11, I am getting this error message that appears: configcam.cpp(151).

I'm not very good with computers, so if anyone can help me!

Thank you

Hello,

Of course, it is not possible to copy the raw formwork software files from one system to another: it must be reinstalled with the CD or its content that would have been backed up elsewhere.

Even when that is the case, if the version used is very old, it may not be compatible with Windows 10/11; you can always try installing in compatibility mode.

If that doesn't work, back to the SAGE subscription boxes (and often at prohibitive rates) since these software are no longer offered in standalone form.

Thank you, I already tried the first solution. For the second one, I don't have a CD drive to reinstall the software. Can I, from another PC with a drive, copy the CD onto a USB stick and install it?

Sorry, I'm really not good at this!

Hello,

In principle yes, unlike a bootable CD (operating system), regarding a software CD, you just need to copy the contents wherever you want (on a USB key or even from that USB key to the destination disk) and then launch (in compatibility mode) the install or setup file (for example, I've done this operation several times for Office 2007).

Generally, that is sufficient, except for CDs, for example, of games with a blocking system where you need to create an ISO image of the CD in question and then "mount" it on the destination PC to make it believe there is a physical CD drive present.

Of course, you will need to re-enter the license key and recover your data files.
