Hello,

I am an illustrator and I want to purchase an HP Deskjet Plus 4120 All-in-One printer, particularly to use its scanning function to rework hand-drawn sketches.

Unfortunately, with many scanners currently available, it's impossible to scan a hand-drawn picture while preserving the quality of the original paper grain. Additionally, if I want to scan a drawing made with graphite pencil, even the quality of the original line is not maintained.

I would like to know if the scanning function of the HP Deskjet Plus 4120 All-in-One inkjet printer respects the quality of a graphite pencil drawing and the grain of the original paper of the drawing.

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Pyel

    Hello,

If I understand correctly, you want the grain of the original paper to be recognizable in the scan.

This implies scanning at a high resolution.

The problem is that with all printers/scanners, we tend to just press the scan button, forgetting that it's possible to change the settings.

With this printer, it seems that the custom scanning program is not provided. It should be called HP Smart and it needs to be downloaded.

In general, the results are much better than with the standard program, but I cannot guarantee that they will meet your expectations.

What is well conceived is clearly stated,
And the words to say it come easily.

Just like Pierr10, I'm really not sure that you can achieve results that meet your expectations. They are "all-in-ones" designed for office work and not for graphic arts...
However, it can be handy... we can do quick scans.
