Gigaset Reset

Hello everyone, especially Brupala

My issue: my network (Gigaset A540 trio) is out of order: the main base hasn't been recognized for several days (all handsets display "no connection according to the antenna symbol" and "base" is flashing)

My attempts to register on the main base fail: the handset shows "registration in progress" for about 45 seconds, then it fails

What should I do?

Thank you MPMP10

I tried to follow your recommendations and followed the procedure, but after "system > OK," I only see "resetting the handset" and therefore cannot proceed to reset the base.

Your advice?

Thank you

I think the selection of the base or the combo is done via the two arrows…

Hello,

The first thing to check is the power supply of the base.
Check:

  • that the socket supplying the telephone is operational.
  • that the power block is properly connected under the base.

When you place the handset back on the base, is there a beep sound?

It's very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...

The answers are YES!

The power and connection are OK and there is indeed a beep at rest from the handset, but the indicators on the handset show that the base is no longer operational and I don’t know how to reset it.

The base reset procedure was provided to you in message#1 by MPMP10

If this reset doesn't change anything, try re-registering the handsets by following the procedure below, extracted from the manual on page 21

Procedure to be performed for each handset, so three times.

Thank you Baladur13

I have to tell you that this is where I started (re-registering the handset) without success

Stupid question: is the round button on the base likely to light up? A comment found on a forum might suggest so.....which leaves me puzzled!

Thanks again

No, the button on the base does not light up...

As for registering a handset, there is a time limit between pressing the button on the base and the handset (60 seconds is not much), so I recommend performing the actions on the handset first, and then pressing the button on the base before confirming on the handset.

Try again with at least one handset.

If nothing works, we can conclude that the base is dead... and see if we can connect the handsets wirelessly to your Box. What model of Freebox do you have?

I have already done as you recommended... without any effect, so I threw in the towel and went to Boulanger for a fresh start... as my friends, who are not exactly experts in telephony, were pushing me to do!

See you and thank you again

Do you really not want to see if we can connect the handsets to the Freebox, if it offers this possibility at all?

Thank you Baladur13 for your perseverance

I must tell you that I actually have 2 networks, one Free (crystal box) and one Orange, and it’s the latter that has failed and that I tried to fix.

Now, it's time for something new: The die is cast!

Thanks again

OK...

But the Livebox can also serve as a base for your handsets...

It depends on the model; the Livebox Play, 4, and 5 have the DECT function that works well.)
