Control panel closes by itself

Check if you have the latest version of Windows 10. To verify it, go to this page, click on Update now, which will start the download of the Microsoft tool. Just open it, and it will allow you to update Windows 10 to the latest version and let you know if it is compatible with your PC. Please note that this update takes some time; if you have a laptop, make sure to plug it in, as it would be unfortunate to run out of battery before the update is complete.

Then press the "Enter" key:

Once the program has executed, it will close on its own after creating a Log file on your desktop.

After that, Windows Notepad will open with the log. There will be this phrase "No corruptions were detected." if your operating system has no corruptions.

Conversely, if the operating system contains errors, the program should normally fix them.

If the program has corrected some errors, in this case, you will need to restart Windows and see if the problem persists or not.

There is indeed the deactivation of the "Windows Error Reporting service" via "msconfig" that works in some cases, but I think you've probably already seen and tried this tip, so:

Try a repair of Windows 10 without data loss (everything is kept).

How are you trying to open the Control Panel?
For example, if you are opening it by typing ''Control Panel'' in the W10 search bar, you may be having issues with it.

Try opening it from its default location:
This PC --► Local Disk (C) --► Windows --► System32
Scroll down the list to --►Control
Open Control (that’s the Control Panel)


Or type Panel in the search area
Right-click on Control Panel and choose Open file location.
Try to open it


Or this way:
Press the Windows + R keys
Copy/paste --►shell:appsfolder
Scroll down to the letter P --►Control Panel
Try to open it


Or add it to the Desktop
(via Settings)
Settings --► Personalization --► Themes --► Desktop icon settings
Check the box --►Control Panel
OK
Close the Settings window.
On the Desktop, try opening Control Panel.


BagMRU and Bags
In the search field on the taskbar, type --► regedit
Backup the Registry
Go to this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell

Right-click and delete BagMRU and Bags
Close the Windows registry.
Restart the PC
Launch the Control Panel.

The registry keys will be recreated at the next startup of the PC.

Make sure that Windows Defender protection is active if you are using it.
And that everything is green.
