Hello,
I have a printer that is indeed old but works great on Windows 7! I want to change my computer (since mine is very slow) to Windows 11 while keeping my printer. Is that possible?
Thank you for your response (if you have a solution in mind!)
Hanah

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 97.0

    Good evening,
Just plug it in when the time comes to find out.
However, if it is too old, there will probably be no driver available from the manufacturer for Windows 11.

    Hello everyone.....

In principle, Windows 11 should recognize it without any problem
    See the procedure below

✅Open the Windows 10 Control Panel
    ✅Click on Devices and Printers
✅Click on Add a printer (2nd line from the top right)
✅Click on The desired printer isn't listed
✅Check the last small box at the bottom then ▶️ Next Leave the top box checked ▶️ Next
✅Click on Windows Update ▶️ Let the machine search for compatible printers ...Note that this may take a few minutes depending on the load of the Microsoft server
✅In the window that opens ▶️ On the left column, scroll the scrollbar to find the brand HP
✅Highlight the printer HP PCS 4100 series
✅Next to start the printer installation and follow the installation process
    ✳️See screenshot image below

    A+
    Cheers

    Hello everyone :)

    1) In addition to Jmarion3's response --> click here

I just installed an HP PSC 1315 on W11 PRO 64bits

You just need to plug the printer's USB cable into a USB port on your PC and wait for the printer to be recognized in --> Devices and Printers in the control panel

From there, right-click on the printer, and choose --> set as default printer

Then, to use the printer, go to the control panel --> devices and printers, and double-click on the printer to open it

PS: You will not have access to the HP Solution Center, which allows you to view the ink levels of the cartridges

    2) To address the issue of accessing the HP Solution Center, I installed the printer using the W7 drivers on a virtual partition (with Virtualbox) on W10 (I haven't tested it on a virtual partition with W11) but I think it's the same

PS: You can download the drivers from this site --> click here

These are the same as those for my printer --> DRIVERS COLLECTION AIO_CDB_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_140_408-4.exe

PS: The drivers are no longer available on the HP site, but I made a backup before they became unavailable --> HP SITE AIO_CDB_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_140_408-4.exe

In image for the HP Solution Center on the Virtual partition (Virtualbox)

On W11 without access to the HP Solution Center

This is due to the fact that Adobe Flash Player is no longer updated since December 31, 2020 --> click here

    Hello,

Don’t forget that HP, Epson, and Lexmark have microchips that deliberately break your printers and force you to buy a new one.

HP has not updated the driver for your printer on W8, W8.1, W10, W11.

You need to check if Microsoft has done this, as they can also update a printer driver to avoid lawsuits for deliberately making it incompatible to force purchases.

There is a site called "Microsoft Update Catalog" where you can find drivers updated by Microsoft, and I cannot find your printer.

    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com

    Cheers.
