Type a hashtag on Mac

Question

Hello,

I just bought a MacBook, and I can't write a hashtag. There is only one key (to the right of the keyboard and above the Return key) for £`@ and the hashtag. So it's a key with four functions but one is missing, the hashtag.
I can't find any answers online. Could someone please help me? Thank you!!!

Hello "Only one key (to the right of the keyboard and above the Return key) for £`@ and the hash": Normally, for a character located to the right of a key, it's ALT Gr (the right ALT for Windows). For you, it will be the Command key. In this photo (yet a Mac Book), it's at the top left of the keyboard.   Best regards! -- Happiness is the only thing that can be given without having it.

If you don't have the "#" key in the top left of your keyboard, it means you don't have a French keyboard available. It would be good to specify that (and it can be important in other situations)...

Moreover, to know how to type unusual characters, you can use the "Keyboard Viewer" in macOS.
