Chromecast with Google TV remote not pairing

Hello,

I bought the Google Chromecast TV to install it on the bedroom TV, which is a 2015 LG Smart TV that is not connected to Wi-Fi.
I thought the Wi-Fi connection would be requested at the beginning of the setup, but instead, it asks me to pair the remote, and that isn't working.
I also installed Google Home but haven't configured anything since it can't find anything.
However, this Wi-Fi connection must be done via a cable or a USB stick.
Do I need to buy a Wi-Fi adapter to get access because I was told that the Chromecast was perfect for older TVs?

Hello and welcome as a new member, the principle is that the device is paired with your box via Wi-Fi and your phone will act as a remote control, so connect to the Google Chromecast app and follow the instructions
