Good evening everyone
I want to find a way to stream my PC screen to my TV so I can watch the series I play via VLC and the movies I stream on the TV screen. I initially wanted to do this using an HDMI cable, but the distance between the TV and PC is 6 meters and, more importantly, my PC does not have an HDMI output...
Here are the specifics of my setup:
- PC connected to the internet box via an RJ-45 cable (no wifi on the PC)
- internet box broadcasting wifi
- 9-year-old TV not connected to the box
What would you recommend? I've heard about Google Chromecast but I'm not sure if it will do the job.
Thank you in advance for your insights :)

Hello.
Get an Android TV box; you can install VLC or any app from the Google Store, connect an external hard drive or a USB stick to play your videos, and you can also use Chromecast.
Example of a box https://www.mi.com/fr/mi-box-s/ there are plenty online for you to choose from, but stick with a well-known brand.
There are also sticks https://www.mi.com/fr/mi-tv-stick/

A hello, a response, a thank you are always appreciated.-
Thank you for your response
I just looked at the Mi TV Stick. I'm reading:
"With built-in Chromecast, you can easily stream videos and other content from your phone, tablet, or laptop directly to your TV screen in 1080p."
Knowing that my PC is not on Wi-Fi but connected to the network via an RJ-45 cable, will it work?
And we agree that Google Chromecast does the job too?- I have never tried Google Chromecast; for my part, I currently prefer a box running Android TV. I have the one from my service provider (Freebox POP, an Android TV box), and I am very happy with it.

Alright, the key you're telling me about, I like it ;)
And one last question, I just saw that they have just released the 4K TV Stick, the new version of the TV Stick, is there an advantage for me to aim for the 4K?-
It's useful if you have a 4K TV and 4K content, Xiaomi is not the only one making this kind of Stick; I recommend looking it up online as an example

Just to finish, how will I cast my PC screen to the TV?
What I mean is, once the dongle is connected via HDMI to the TV, will the manipulation be done on the TV to detect the devices connected to the network, or do I need to do something on the PC to detect the dongle? -
Thank you for your responses, yes I saw that it was necessary to do this with the Google Chromecast and I was wondering if I had to do the same thing, and you answered me perfectly, thank you very much :) :)

I think I'm going to go with the Fire TV Stick 4K (4K just in case I change my TV one day)

Thank you, I just checked and he prefers the Xiaomi ^^ By the way, the one from Amazon doesn’t have Chromecast, which I was verifying when you replied to me ^^
So, that's the main question, being able to cast my computer screen to the TV, so it's better if I choose the Xiaomi ^^
