Hello everyone,
I bought a second-hand Olivetti Lettera 41 in like-new condition (without manual).
But I have a problem, when I type the ink ribbon doesn't reach the hammer height, so the letter appears on the sheet but without ink.
We thought it was a lack of ink, but it's not...
How can I fix this, please???

The screw button should be removable on the axis of the 2 spools. The thread is a normal pitch. We tighten clockwise...
However, the 2 ribbon spools should have fixed axis holes and the screw buttons have a shoulder that locks the spool. This allows us to secure them firmly to their support. As far as I remember, the metal spools don't work... they slip because they are not smooth.

Now it works,
But I have two issues:
- the ribbon doesn't advance automatically which means that after a few keystrokes the letters run out of ink.
- the "screwdriver" that we remove to place the reel has tightened by itself and it is now impossible to remove it, plus when I force it too much the reel moves and shifts some springs inside so I'm afraid to keep forcing it but how can I remove the screw?

Hello, how did you fix the problem? I have the same issue: the ribbon doesn't advance automatically, and it doesn't rise to the height of the keys. It was working perfectly and suddenly it stopped.

For the ribbon scrolling, depending on the system, flat plastic spools with a screw or recesses are needed so that the drive pin fits into them...
For the ribbon holder that doesn't advance all at once, check that the lever allowing to strike in red or black is properly positioned. There is sometimes a central position so that the ribbon does not advance and stencils can be created.. (older duplication system)
