F6 Mute Button Light Remains On

Hello,
It turns out that for the past few days, due to an unintentional action on my part, my F6 key with the little "mute" logo and an indicator light above on the right has been constantly lit, and I can't turn it off, yet the sound works perfectly well.
The indicator light should normally turn on when the sound is muted and turn off when the sound is unmuted, but no matter how many times I press it, it doesn't work.
Can you please help me?
