Activate import/export in Outlook 365 on a MacBook Pro

Good evening everyone

I bought a MacBook Pro a few days ago.
I was previously working on a Windows PC.
I installed the Office suite, including Outlook.
I want to import my Outlook calendar from my PC Windows to my Mac, but on my Mac the Import and Export options are grayed out and not clickable.
I don't know how to enable these features to be able to import my calendar, in particular.
Does anyone know how to enable this in Outlook 365 on Mac?
Thank you in advance for your help.

You don't provide much detail about the context, particularly the version of Office (presumably 16.54) and the version of macOS involved.

That said, we can take a guess: have you activated the "new Outlook" view? If so, I encourage you to quickly switch back to the normal display to regain a somewhat more functional version. The "new Outlook" is best regarded as a beta; it lacks a lot of features, making it pretty much unusable for daily use.

If that's not the case, please provide more details. For example, the type of email account concerned (Exchange, IMAP, POP,...) and the account's host.

From a Windows version of Outlook, you should normally be able to import a PST archive. Is that how you're proceeding? If not, how are you doing it? We can also import calendar events by dragging and dropping .ics files, but that can be a bit tedious for a complete calendar...

You now need to go through the menu "Help" > "Return to the old version". ;-)

Aliboron Martin, thank you for the response. Indeed, the issue was due to having activated the new version of Outlook.
As soon as I switched back to normal mode, the import/export options became clickable again!
Thank you very much, it was quite silly but I pulled my hair a bit until your intervention :-)
I used a PST archive, and it worked perfectly.

Hello, I am encountering the same problem.

However, I would like to be able to import from the new Outlook for Mac because in this version, some folders are missing even though they are present in the normal version.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

Thank you in advance.

Can you describe more precisely what you are observing? It is currently not possible to import anything into the "new Outlook" view. If folders are also missing, that makes two good reasons (in addition to all the others) not to enable this view, except perhaps for some trials and tests. I don't really see what your problem is, to be exact...

NB: If the missing folders correspond to local items, it is "perfectly normal" that they are not present in the "new Outlook" view.

Thank you for your reply,

I will try to make it simpler. In my inbox, I have folders... Lots of folders ....
When I switch to the new Outlook display on macOS, some of these folders are missing.

I tried to export/import from the old version to the new one, but it was not possible.

Can you explain to me what you mean by local items?

Local elements are those that are not "online," meaning everything that is in the "on my computer" section. So, POP accounts, any archiving folders we've created, etc. As already mentioned, none of this exists in the "new Outlook" display. It also does not allow for importing anything; the relevant feature is not implemented, and the corresponding line is always grayed out.

But what does it matter since this display is just a beta (and even then) in which far too many features are missing for it to be seriously used on a daily basis?
