Sync Google Calendar on phone

Hello everyone,
I've been using Google Calendar for a while now, but I'm having a pretty strange syncing problem that I can't seem to solve.
I have Google Calendar on my PC and on my phone, and if I add events from my PC, they will also show up on my phone. However, if I add events from my phone, they don't show up on my PC.
This is quite annoying, as I use Google Calendar on both, and nearly half of the tasks just don't appear when I open it on my computer.
I don't really understand where the problem is, since the syncing works in one direction but not the other.
Could anyone shed some light on this for me?

Make sure that on your smartphone you are using Google Calendar and not another one.
Then, still on your smartphone, go to:
Settings => Accounts and backups => Google Drive, Backup
Scroll down to Data related to your Google account
You can verify that the calendar is synchronized:
Depending on your version of Android, the menus may be slightly different.
