Message touch not working on Gigaset A540

Hello,
I have a Gigaset 540 duo handset without a built-in answering machine. I am using Orange's voicemail. The message button in the shape of a small envelope worked perfectly until I changed the batteries. Since then, it doesn't light up when I have a message, and I have to dial 3103 to listen to it, which is not practical at all. Is there a way to restore this signal? Thank you.

    Hello,
    You do have an A540, a single button on the base in the hollow where the handset is placed.
    For the blinking light in case of a message on the external mailbox, see
    the excerpt from the manual on page 15 (17 of the pdf)

      Thank you, sorry but I have already tried this system, no number 9 appears, I have been making a lot of attempts with other suggestions for several days but nothing works. I really don't want to buy a new phone when this one works fine, apart from this unexplained incident. Have a nice Sunday.
