Styles apply to the entire document

Hello,

I have had a problem for a long time regarding styles (and also text alignments), which happens not only on Google Docs but also on other text editors, like LibreOffice.

In fact, when I apply a style to a portion of text, it affects the entire document, and all the text written in the document then becomes the same style as what I just selected.

This also happens on another computer. I really don't understand where this could come from; I've never tinkered with the settings...

I made a short video to illustrate the problem for you:

Thank you in advance for your help.

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 89.0

Hello.

@@@ Your link does not lead to any video.

Reminders:
  • The style you select applies to the paragraph you are in.
  • The paragraphs you create afterwards retain this style.

Here is a document I made for a friend I am coaching on Word: https://www.cjoint.com/c/KFfxxXJFZ6B

It's nice to retire! Especially in the Caribbean...

Hello,

Thank you for your response, and I know it's supposed to work this way, but the problem is that I don't notice it.

I uploaded a new video, hoping this one works:

Thank you.
