would you be so kind as to help me solve my problem
I can't get my 3D embroidery system HASP key 2.17 recognized, it lights up when I plug it into the USB port of my computer but a message appears saying key not connected

There is nothing to download..
Hasp keys are generally dongles that serve to validate the program. Without this dongle, you would not be able to use the program or it would refuse to start.
When you installed the program, you should have a folder where the program to launch in order to validate the use of the Hasp key should be located.
The folder may be named Hasp, or Security, or dongle... I do not know the program of your embroidery machine, but this principle is very common with the RIPs of flashing machines..
The installation procedure should be found in the user manual of the program.. Look to see if this manual is available in the form of a PDF file in the program folder. -
Have you installed the driver for this key?
Generally, it's independent of the program itself... but the program's manual should indicate the procedure.
