Permission denied to delete directory Linux

Hello, on my desktop, I have a folder that I can't delete because "permission is not granted." I opened the terminal and typed: sudo rm "folder name." I then entered my password, but it said "no such file or directory." The name of my folder is: recup_dir.1
How can I delete it? I really don't know much about computers.

    Hello,
    The simplest way, in a graphical mode:
    Open the file browser as root 
    sudo nautilus
    (or thunar or pcmanfm or even konqueror depending on your desktop environment)
    Navigate to the Desktop folder and you will be able to delete your folder.
