Hello and thank you for this response. Understanding English perfectly -having taught it for 42 years :) - "timed out" was not an issue for me and I had also noted contactnoripply instead of noreply, which suggests that it might be a hacker who doesn't master English with this bogus address contactnoripply@gmail.com. I have of course never written to this fake address and I don’t see how it could be in my preferences. So thank you for the response, but where is "this tutorial"?
Oh, by the way, I checked online: my email address has not been compromised ("no leaks").

Good evening! I couldn't find any Preferences in the tabs of my email settings, and there was no forwarding either!
I spoke with an Orange advisor online, who confirmed that someone had indeed accessed my email, and he simply had me change my password (which I had already done yesterday) and wrote to me: don't worry, everything is fine.

Well, I found in the Orange webmail settings (which I hardly use!) the mail forwarding tab, which was already set to the "do not forward" option.
And of course, as I feared, despite my password change and the assurances from the Orange advisor, I still received five "undelivered mail returned to sender" messages tonight without the slightest mention of the so-called message returned to the "sender," with an attached file file.dat that I can't open. Demonic, isn't it?

The Orange "advisors" unfortunately still have a lot to learn. Among other things, they need to understand that changing a password does not prevent someone from sending an email to that account!!!

These messages may have been sent late or gotten stuck on one of the servers. A complete header analysis with timestamps would indicate that.

Are these messages all identical? Same fake Gmail address? Same "Timed out" reason?

Hello and thank you again for your interest. Without being an "internet wizard" of your calibre, I was skeptical about the effectiveness of a simple password change. I've read a lot of exchanges on the web regarding this hacking issue, and many do say that after a few days or weeks the spam emails stop following a password change. But maybe it's just a coincidence. The system here doesn’t allow me to add an attachment, so I can't send you a sample of these spams, but yes, it’s always the exact same text, with the same characters without accents and the same rather comical noreply in the fake sender address.
Last night I received "only" four spams. Maybe there is hope...
