Good evening,
Since today I have an issue with my Sony Bravia 40hx720 TV. The light blinks 4 times and I can't turn it on (despite having unplugged and plugged it back in)
In a previous communication, a suggested method seemed to have some effect
"This is a problem with an electrical overload of the TV's protection circuit;
The solution is very simple:
You need to unplug the power cable and connect the two prongs of the plug together for at least an hour to allow the protection circuit to discharge."
I’m sorry for this stupid question, but how do you connect the two prongs of the plug together?
Thank you
Have a good evening
Configuration: Android / Chrome 88.0.4324.141

Hello,
You need to unplug the wall socket from the TV.... then on the socket at the end of the TV cable, connect the two poles together with a wire or clips... but they need to be electrically connected... and it's supposed to discharge the residual electricity.
I have to say I'm quite skeptical about these manipulations... But well, it doesn't cost anything..
I mainly believe that your TV has a failure in the power supply unit or an issue with the backlight LEDs...
Normally this model isn't very old, it should still be under warranty.
