Hello,

I recently noticed that I have a T connection in my room and I would like to convert it to ethernet to benefit from a better connection than with powerline. However, I'm not sure if the cables are PTT278 or PTT298, as from what I understand, with PTT278 it would be pointless to change the socket because I wouldn't achieve a better speed than with powerline.
I would like to know if you could tell the difference and indicate whether it is possible with the cables I am attaching in the photo below to reach 1 Gbit/s if I change the socket and set it to RJ45.

    Hello,
ptt298 without hesitation, but it's not enough to change the socket to create an Ethernet network, there are things to do beforehand as well.

Thank you for the response! However, I don't really understand; isn't it enough to change the outlet to directly access the Ethernet from my box to my room?

      ah,
      not at all no ...
you also need to connect the other end of the cable to an ethernet network, not to the phone line.
