Connecting a soundbar to a projector

Hello,

I would like to set up a sound system with a projector and a soundbar.

I will connect my console, the decoder, and/or the Chromecast to an HDMI port on the projector via an HDMI switch.

What about the connection between the projector and the soundbar?
Projectors do not have an ARC output.

Should I connect the soundbar to the projector with an optical cable (via an RCA adapter) since projectors do not have an optical output or via an HDMI cable that I connect to one of the remaining ports on the projector?

In order to try to assist you
it would be good to know the references (brand and model) of this soundbar and the video projector as well as the device that is supposed to provide the image to this video projector.

  I went to Fnac today and I think I found the solution:
  Buy a projector with at least two HDMI inputs and the JBL Link Bar soundbar (https://fr.jbl.com/enceinte-connect%C3%A9e/JBL+LINK+BAR-.html) which has 3 HDMI inputs and one HDMI output.
  If I connect the game console + the decoder + the Chromecast to the soundbar via HDMI, and then connect a cable from the soundbar output to the projector, will it work?
  I'm considering the Benq 1090 or Epson TW5600 for the projector.
  Does the projector need to have an HDMI ARC input to receive sound from the soundbar?

    ARC = Audio Return Channel.
    An HDMI ARC connection sends the sound from a television back to a soundbar.
    In the setup you described, it is the soundbar that sends the image to the projector.
    The sound will be broadcasted and sent to the projector as well (you will need to set the projector's volume to zero).
    It should work.

But the projector does not have an HDMI ARC input, will I still be able to get sound from all the devices through the soundbar and video through the projector?
The HDMI cable connected to the HDMI OUT port of the soundbar and to any HDMI port on the projector will send both signals: video + sound?

  As already mentioned above... HDMI ARC connections are made to send sound back to the soundbar.
  The projector does not provide any sound, so there is no reason for it to have HDMI ARC.
  In your setup, it is the gaming console, the decoder, or the Chromecast that will provide both image and sound to the soundbar; and the soundbar, in turn, transmits the image and sound from the selected input to the projector.

    Baladur13 if you know of any other soundbars with as many HDMI inputs for this setup I'm all ears. If you also recommend another projector besides the Epson TW5600 I'm also interested.

I am interested in your issue. Have you finalized your project? Is it working? So you must have run an HDMI cable along your room to connect the soundbar and the projector?

  Hello, I'm reaching out to you because each installation is unique, and I would like to know if this would work for my setup. Here it is: I have an Epson EH-TW5700 projector that has sound output, and I will have a Yamaha YAS-209 soundbar. I want my decoder and DVD player to work with the soundbar, while displaying the image from the projector, as there is no television. I have a 4K 60Hz HDMI switch with one input and three outputs. I'm asking for your help because this is a puzzle. Thank you for your replies.

    I think the solution is as follows:
    HDMI outputs from the decoder and the DVD to the inputs of the HDMI switch, output of the switch to HDMI IN of the soundbar, and HDMI Out of the soundbar to the HDMI input of the projector.
    But the switch must have 3 inputs and 1 output in other words the opposite of the one you have.
