problem with medieval total war

Hello,
hi I have no idea what to do anymore, I have a GeForce 7900 GT, my computer is quite powerful for everything else, but I absolutely can't get Medieval Total War to start, I've reinstalled the latest drivers, reinstalled DirectX 9, nothing works, I'm playing through Steam... I try to load the game... but the window disappears and nothing happens.. if anyone has a little idea.. thanks

Same for me, since I updated DirectX (version 9.c) I can't start the game... Does anyone have a solution to downgrade DirectX?

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem as you!
At first, when I launched the game through Steam, the startup window stayed for 1 or 2 seconds and then nothing!
Then, I tried updating DirectX 9, installing the latest version of .NET Framework 3.0, but nothing worked! Except for a small change...
A window appears with various links for updates or new mods... then an error message pops up, and I have no choice but to quit because when I click on continue, nothing changes...

Clearly, there's a problem with the launcher!!!
If anyone has a solution, I thank you.

Don't complain to me, the game won't even launch. I installed it, and when I click on the icon to start it, it says "Please insert the appropriate DVD-ROM, then click OK and restart the application." I've done this 36 times, I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, but nothing works. If anyone has had the same problem, thanks for replying.

Hello, I have exactly the same problem. When I launch Medieval Total War, everything works fine, but at the moment of loading the saved game, the screen goes black and I get a message saying that MTV needs to close... I'm running on Vista and I think I've updated everything essential... If anyone can help me, that would be great, I really like this game.

Hi! I'm also running Vista and I've just figured out why the strategy map isn’t displaying!!! I tried it on a friend's older computer and everything works fine... except when it comes to the drivers! The too recent graphics drivers are inappropriate for this game :(
There are sites offering older drivers, for example: http://www.clubic.com/telecharger-pilote-3586-0-nvidia-cartes-graphiques.html.

I installed the game and when I launch it at the moment of the cinematic (just before when the screen is all black)

I have the same problem as everyone else with mtw, so I searched for a driver for my graphics card (Radeon Xpress 1100) but I can't find one on Clubic, or I don't understand how it works (I'm a complete beginner with computers).
If someone could shed some light on this for me, I would be infinitely grateful.

I have a different problem..

I'm installing the game, after switching the CD everything goes well, but when it reaches 76%, an error message pops up:

"An error occurred while moving data: -106
Element: Games Files
File group: Game Files
File: LArmWcav_H.BIF "

What's happening? What should I do?

It's normal, just buy Medieval 2 Total War and install it; Kingdoms is just an expansion of this game! Make sure to read the back before buying!

Hi, after searching a lot, I may have found the solution: you have to run the game in Windows 95 mode. I know it sounds crazy with super boosted computers, but it worked for me. Good luck, gentlemen!
