Disappearing messages

Hello,
My texts have been disappearing gradually for a while now.
What is causing this?
I've seen that several people have the same issue!
Is there something to do in the settings?

Configuration: Android / Chrome 86.0.4240.75

Hello,
Your settings are incorrect; go to your SMS settings and uncheck the box for deleting old messages.

Thank you for the quick reply, but I don't have that kind of option to tick or untick on my Redmi Note 7.
And just so you know, I haven't done anything special, I haven't checked or unchecked anything in the settings.
