My Android TV doesn't detect my USB ports

Hello,

I recently bought an Android TV that claims to support USB ports.

I connected the same hard drive that I use to watch movies on my other TV (another flat screen), but here neither my hard drive nor any of my USB sticks (as I've tried with a 32GB and an 8GB) can be read. The TV keeps telling me that "the content of the drive is corrupted," even though it works perfectly well on my other television and the computer.

Is it a formatting issue? If so, what type of hard drive would I need then?

Best regards.

Hello
There are several formats for discs/USB drives, and the most common ones on Windows are Fat32 and Ntfs. They differ on MacOS, which uses APFS or FAT/ExFAT.
Unfortunately, Android cannot natively "read" all these formats.
Make sure your drive is in Fat32 or ExFAT, which are readable by Android (it’s Ntfs that is proposed by Windows and APFS on MacOS). Be careful, Fat32 does not support files larger than 4GB!!!

The best thing to do is to read your TV's documentation to see the supported formats.

See you!
